The best thing about working with Embassy Summer has to be the flexibility and adventure. Being a welfare manager, I enjoy being able to stay by myself working in the office and making sure to get quiet time. At the same time, I enjoy being around kids so I can always choose to be with them in the evening or on excursions, if I’m on top of my work!
The culture here is varied, full of nationalities, and they always bring a piece of their own home / culture which is amazing to see. I enjoy working with students from Asia, America, Europe and so on as they share their habits and experiences!
Being first aid trained and the welfare officer, I enjoy seeing the smiles and “thank yous” of students after being helped with concerns or minor injuries (thankfully we hadn’t had any serious injury)
If you’re thinking about applying with Embassy Summer, don’t be scared to get involved and be yourself! Kids love spontaneity and enjoy talking to staff members!

I'm Johnley and I've worked with Embassy Summer for two years in a row as an Activity Manager. I've made a great family every summer with Embassy. We make do with what we have and we have a close-knit group of colleagues that you are comfortable and proud to work with daily, no matter the hours. Before this, I never knew I could handle personalising various programmes for more than 2500 students. Now, I just call it a Monday.

Working as an EFL teacher for Embassy Summer in Canterbury was an amazing experience. From day one, I was surrounded by a fantastic and supportive team, as well as incredible students who made every day exciting. Watching the kids grow in confidence and improve their English skills over the summer was really inspiring—it was amazing to see them come out of their shells, make friends, and challenge themselves.
Beyond teaching, the whole experience was a chance to learn more about myself as well. I developed my skills, gained confidence in the classroom, and learned how to adapt to different students’ needs. Plus, I made some amazing friendships along the way with fellow teachers and staff, which made the whole summer even more special

Canterbury was the perfect setting—such a beautiful and historic place to work and explore. The balance of teaching, activities, and just enjoying the experience made it such a memorable summer. I’m hoping to return this year because it was easily one of the best teaching experiences I’ve had. If you’re considering it, I’d highly recommend it!

It was an immensely valuable summer spent in my life. It left me with wonderful memories to adore forever. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to work at the London centre for a week before joining the Oxford centre. Encouraging colleagues, amazing students, great company, and a brilliant experience in the heart of Oxford.
I would highly recommend Embassy Summer and its rewarding teaching programme to anyone interested in EFL teaching. See you next summer!

The best part is living the Embassy experience, meeting lots of great people, learning new things, activities and pushing yourself forward to new adventures.

My summer with Embassy Summer as an Activity Leader was unforgettable! As an international staff member, I loved exploring new attractions around the UK and learning about their cultural and historical significance. Some of my favourite memories include crafting with the students, playing capture the flag and taking them on trips to incredible places like Brighton and London. I also enjoyed learning about their cultures and even picking up some phrases from their languages!
Canterbury was a beautiful city to stay in, and I’m so happy I chose it. The University of Kent campus was fantastic, and I never tired of the stunning views of the Cathedral from campus. In my downtime, the on-campus convenience store, café, bookstore, and gym were lifesavers!
The other activity leaders were amazing—I found a wonderful group of friends who made the job so fun. Sharing this experience with them made it even more special.
I’ve recommended Embassy Summer to all my friends, and if you're thinking about it—go for it! It’s an incredible way to spend your summer.
